Three Suffolk-born sisters are taking on the London Marathon in honour of their "bright, funny and sparkly" grandmother with Alzheimer's.
Holly Sherington, 33, Kari Poacher, 31, and Jennie Sherington, 29, will be lacing up their running shoes to take on the epic 26.2 mile challenge on Sunday, April 23.
With parents in Walpole and previous ties to Eye and Ipswich, two of the Sherington sisters are training together in London, with the third preparing from her home in Suffolk.
Fourth sister Annie Rogers, 34, is supporting the marathon trio by publicising their fundraiser and spoke about why they had chosen to support Alzheimer's Society.
"Our grandma Barbara is bright, funny and sparkly but Alzheimer's is taking her away from us," said Mrs Rogers.
"Watching someone derode like that in front of you is heartbreaking.
"When I go to visit her, she knows I'm one of her lot but not who I am."

When Holly and Kari received marathon places through the ballot, third sister Jennie decided to try for a charity place and Alzheimer's Society was a perfect fit.
"We get to share her with our six nieces and nephews as she's become a great grandma too," Mrs Rogers added.
"Our hope is that more grandmas get to spend longer enjoying quality time with their families."
Having already surpassed their fundraising target of £2,000, the Sherington sisters are training hard for the London Marathon which is creeping ever closer.
"They're honestly super women," said Mrs Rogers.
"Holly and Jenny train together in London and I go out with Kari here in Suffolk sometimes too.
"Raising money for Alzheimer's Society means everything to us."
