A motorcyclist has died after a crash with a car outside of a seaside town.

Police were called to Primrose Lane, off the A120 near Harwich, at about 1.45pm on Sunday after reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a car.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Diversions were put in place but motorists were asked to avoid the area due to heavy traffic.

Police are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have any further information to contact them.
