A man who "made life a misery for many people" in a west Suffolk town has been convicted of a series of drug offences after pleading guilty last week.

Sam Roles, of Winthrop Road in Bury St Edmunds, pleaded guilty to a series of drug offences at Ipswich Crown Court on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old was convicted of conspiring to supply both a class A controlled drug, namely cocaine, and a class B controlled drug between December 2022 and May 2023.

He was also found guilty of the fraudulent evasion of a prohibition on the importation of a class B drug between November 2022 and May 2023, possession with the intent to supply cannabis and the use of criminal property.

Roles was initially arrested on Tuesday, April 16 and officers took him to Bury St Edmunds Police Station.

He has since been remanded in custody and will be sentenced at a later date.

PC Bedford, from the West Kestrel team who worked on the case in Bury St Edmunds, said: “Roles is an individual who blighted the local community with his drug dealing and made life a misery for many people.

“We will continue seek justice, to take robust action against those who blight our communities by dealing drugs and who also prey on vulnerable people in the process.”
