A Suffolk dentistry campaign group has called on the candidates standing in the election for their support.

Toothless in Suffolk will host a street stall on Angel Hill in Bury St Edmunds on Friday, June 21, when the county marks Suffolk Day.

Organisers of the campaign, which launched in Leiston in 2021, say they have invited each of the Suffolk candidates standing in the general election, which will take place on July 4, to show their support for the campaign.

They said while Suffolk Day is a day dedicated to celebrating all that is good in our county, they hope to highlight the 'state of NHS dentistry' and the 'lack of accessible dental care and emergency treatment' Suffolk families are facing.

Mark Jones, one of the campaign organisers, said: "NHS dentistry is the number one issue on the doorstep.

"With the general election coming up, we'd thought we'd get out and about and urge Suffolk's parliamentary candidates to back our campaign.

"We also want the patients to turn up and make their voice heard. Let's make Toothless in Suffolk Day a day these candidates won't forget in a hurry."
