The organiser of a popular car boot sale says he is "wonderfully excited" for the event despite the "dismal weather".

The Stonham Barns Car Boot sale will take place tomorrow (Sunday July 7) and an added attraction will be the Shinka East Coast Japanese Car Show also taking place at the venue, near Stowmarket.

The East Coast Japanese Club will be exhibiting a range of classic and modern motorcycles, cars and trucks from some of Japan's most popular brands.

The organiser of Stonham Barns Car Boot Sale, Simon Tilley, said: "We are wonderfully excited for this event, despite the dismal weather at the moment. While it may be a bit soggy underfoot, in typical British fashion, we will make it work!"

He added: "We always try and offer something different to our friendly visitors and we think the Shinka Japenese Car Show does just that. They are looking to bring a really exciting range of cars and the event looks really promising.

"I've been running this car boot sale for around 15 years now, so I love it. The event will still go ahead, but of course, we are also hoping for some sunshine to help us along."

East Coast Japanese Club owner, Courtney Barker, said :"We encourage owners to bring their modern and classic rides to the show and meet other owners with a shared love of everything Japanese."

The car boot sale is free to enter as a buyer but it costs £6 for sellers to bring a car; £8.50 to bring a car with a trailer or van; and £12 to bring a large van or van with a trailer.

The car show has a £10 entry cost for adults and children under 12 will go free.
