Moth identification, garden trails and dissecting owl pellets are among an array of activities on offer at a county beauty spot.

The RSPB Flatford Wildlife Garden in East Bergholt, on the Suffolk and Essex border, has released a full list of wildlife-based events being held over the summer holidays.

The family events running throughout July and August range from discovering what the area's local barn owls like to eat to spending a day in nature with a picnic enjoying the family garden trails.

There is also moth identification to find out about the species that call Flatford home. The event also has breakfast and butterfly crafts.

Amy Ward, visitor experience officer from the RSPB said: "The summer is an excellent time to head out to our nature spaces- the days are longer so there's time to make the most of all that's on offer.

"We want everyone to find a nature adventure they love, whether that is looking for butterflies, listening out for buzzing insects or learning more about fantastic moths. You can find incredible wildlife in Suffolk and Essex.

“We love helping people discover how fantastic our nature is, and with everyone’s help, we can protect it and ensure there’s more of it to enjoy for generations to come.”
