A man from Bury St Edmunds has been ordered to pay more than £1,000 after failing to identify a driver suspected of committing an offence.
Subramani Karthik, of Wagtail Drive in the west Suffolk town, was asked for information in December last year relating to the driver of a Honda, who the police believed committed an offence.
However, Karthik did not give them the information, a court listing said.
The incident happened in Nettleham, near Lincoln in Lincolnshire.
Charges were brought against Karthik, 40, by Lincolnshire Police, and he was found guilty of failing to give information relating to the identification of a vehicle when required.
For this he was given six points on his driving record, fined £660, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £264 and ordered to pay costs of £110.
This means he was told to pay out a total of £1,034.
Karthik appeared at Lincolnshire Magistrates’ Court in May this year.
