A performer told as a teenager "girls don't play guitar like that" has been announced as the headline act at a renowned art centre.
Chantel McGregor will perform at the John Peel Centre, Stowmarket, on September 5.
The Bradford-born guitarist and singer is on a UK tour during 2024.
At 14, the performer was told by major labels that she had a "great voice but girls don't play guitar like that!".
Undeterred, Chantel enrolled herself at the Leeds College of Music and became their first student to achieve a 100% pass mark and scored herself 18 distinctions as well as the college's musician of the year award.
She has worked with Livingstone Brown, whose production credits include Ed Sheeran, Robin Trower, and Shakira on both her albums Like No Other and Like Control.
