A new plaque acknowledging Campsea Ashe's National Plant Collection was unveiled at Botanica Nursery and Arboretum in east Suffolk.
The green plaque, heralding the National Collection of Santolina, was presented by the horticultural conservation charity Plant Heritage.
Theatre designer and friend of Botanica, Anna Fleischle, had the honour of revealing the plaque to the public.
Originating from the Mediterranean, Santolinas are small, aromatic shrubs known for their feathered foliage and button-like flower heads, which come in an array of yellow shades.
They are a favourite among bees and other pollinators, a perfect fit alongside Botanica's six beehives and consistent with the nursery's dedication to conservation and environmental care.
Started seven years ago, the Santolina collection now boasts more than 23 varieties, including some rare forms not currently grown elsewhere in the UK.
It offers Plant Heritage members and the general public a chance to view the shrubs in a specially landscaped area at the nursery.
Jon Rose, national plant collection holder of Santolina, said: "I’m greatly honoured that Plant Heritage has recognised Botanica for our work in creating a National Plant Collection."
