Drivers will be faced with a 20 mile diversion, including the A14, as part of a five-month road closure.
Bridge replacement works are set to take place along the A1088 Ixworth Road in Stowlangtoft, near Bury St Edmunds.
Work will start on Monday, July 22, and is expected to be complete by Friday, December 20.

During the works a road closure will be in place between the junction with The Street in Stowlangtoft and Sandy Lane in Grimstone End to ensure the safety of road users and operatives from Suffolk Highways.
The official diversion route is around 20 miles long and will take traffic along the A1088, A14 and A143.
A spokesman for Suffolk Highways confirmed access will be maintained for businesses and residents and all businesses in Norton will be open as usual.
