A stretch of the A14 in west Suffolk was closed after a two-vehicle crash.
Police were called to the crash involving a lorry and a car near Bury St Edmunds at about 8.30am on Thursday.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said the westbound carriageway was closed as a result of the crash.
It comes after officers were called at about 8.15am to reports of a dog in the westbound carriageway.
The spokeswoman confirmed there has been no trace of the dog.
The extent of any injuries is not yet known but the ambulance service werecalled to the crash between the lorry and the car.
According to the AA Traffic Map there were long delays in the area.
