Two Suffolk restaurants have been named among the best local eateries in the UK. 

Lark in Bury St Edmunds and The Greyhound in Pettistree were selected in Britain's top 100 local restaurants by The Good Food Guide. 

60,000 votes were cast by diners across the country before experts from the prestigious foodie guide carried out inspections. 

The results aim to showcase local creativity and talent, personal hospitality and genuine community spirit.

At the start of May, The Good Food Guide announced that The Greyhound was a front runner for the number one spot. 

The gastropub near Woodbridge reopened in November 2022 under the ownership of friends Cassidy Hughes and Will Orrock.

It has a seasonal menu and has also been named as one of the UK's best by Estella Damm. 

Located inside a former bus station in Angel Hill, Lark opened in Bury St Edmunds last year and has received much national acclaim. 

It is the only restaurant in Suffolk with a Michelin Bib Gourmand award and its menu was recently crowned the Menu of the Year.
