Homeowners in the county are being warned after a resident was approached by doorstep traders.

Suffolk Trading Standards received a report on Wednesday stating traders were going door to door in Sudbury offering to clean driveways.

One homeowner was approached at the door by two men, one driving a dark coloured van and the other in a car.

The traders offered to clean the driveway and attempted to start the work even though the resident had declined.

They left once the resident said they did not want any work carried out and no money was paid.

Anyone who has also been approached by the traders or saw they vehicles they travelled in should contact Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 0808 223 1133.

Suffolk Trading Standards has issued advice for doorstep trading including to never agree to have work done as a result of a cold call, get quotes from multiple traders if work needs doing to your home and only pay in full once the work is completed.
