A man suffered serious facial injuries after being assaulted in a town centre.
Police were called at about midnight on Saturday to reports of a serious assault in Friars Street in Sudbury.
Paramedics also attended the scene a man was taken to hospital for treatment for serious facial injuries.
He has since been discharged from hospital.
A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and robbery.
He was taken to Bury St Edmunds police station for questioning and has since been released on bail with conditions to return on October 24.
