South Suffolk residents are being asked to nominate well-deserving 'community champions' for an award hosted by their MP.
For the second year in a row, South Suffolk MP James Cartlidge is calling for nominations from the public for his Community Champion Award.
The accolade recognises people who go above and beyond for their community.
Last year Carol Moss, who has been a community first responder for more than two decades, took the prize.
Mr Cartlidge, who has been MP for South Suffolk since he was elected in 2015 having been re-elected in the general election in July, said: "I have met so many brilliant local volunteers who give up their precious free time to make a real difference to their communities.
"Last year's nominees included parish councillors, litter pickers, community transport volunteers, charity campaigners and many more.
"Unfortunately, many volunteers such as these often go unappreciated for the vital work that they do.
"As such, it’s important for me – as the Member of Parliament – to recognise all those who go above and beyond, to support our communities through difficult times.
"It’s for this exact reason that I’m asking your readers to nominate a ‘Community Champion.'"
If you know someone who has made a difference, they can be nominated on James Cartlidge's website.
