Drivers will face a diversion of up to 36 miles while a village road is closed.
Further Street in Assington, near Sudbury, will be closed from Monday, August 5 until Tuesday, August 13.
The A134 road will be closed overnights between 8pm and 5am.
The official diversion route on Suffolk County Council's website is 36 miles long and is expected to take around an hour to complete.
The diversion route is long as it takes drivers along A roads because some vehicles like HGV's cannot go down smaller roads that others would use as shortcuts.
