A Felixstowe mum has described feeling more "confident" and "like a new person" after losing nearly four stone - meaning she no longer needs a walking aid or her wheelchair.

Kate Walker has lost three stone ten pounds in just 42 weeks after wanting to change her life.

In 2019, she was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which led to her needing to use a wheelchair or walking stick.

The 32-year-old said: "I was feeling utterly miserable. I was unable to work and spent much of my time at home.

"I had no energy and I was in too much pain to cook. I lost all confidence in myself and I felt like I'd lost my identity."

She wanted to lose weight and went to a Slimming World class in Felixstowe.

She said: "I was a bit nervous to go back, but actually quite excited and determined to give it my one last, best shot. I knew this was a ‘now or never’ moment."

Now, after losing almost four stone in under a year, she said she feels more "confident" and no longer needs to go out with her wheelchair or walking stick.

She added: "I believe I can do whatever I set my mind to and I can achieve what I want.

"I can be an active mum, I can enjoy time with my friends and family, I can travel to go and watch football, I can enjoy dog walks, I can start to work again.
