Mouldons Brewery in Sudbury wins regional CAMRA beer award

Mauldons Brewery, which is based in Sudbury, has been crafting award-winning beers as part of the Nedging Hall Estate since 1795. 

At the East Anglian Beer and Cider Festival the brewery received a silver award in the Strong Stouts and Porters CAMRA East Anglia Champion Beer. 

Black Adder, which is Mauldons Brewery's take on a dry roasty beer, was chosen in a blind taste test.

The silver award win comes after a year of expansion for the brewery who have seen a growth in pub customers following the addition of a new cold store.

The new store has allowed the brewery to double in size and future proof the business at its current location on the Chilton Industrial Estate. 

Charlie Buckle, managing director of Nedging Hall Estate, said: "Mauldons have a variety of ales for every taste so you cannot go wrong with us. 

"It has been great to see our beers in more and more pubs.

"What we love most is hearing from pubs and how much their customers love our ales. We never tire of hearing that."

Mauldons Brewery hopes to continue its growth into next year and has plans to double the number of specials on offer in 2025. 

Due to popularity the brewery will craft an ale per month and upcoming specials include Old Ale, Scrooges Revenge and Angel Ale.
