Woodbridge Cruising Club has launched its autumn programme, featuring a range of nautical-themed activities.
The programme includes Thursday walks, Wednesday suppers and Sunday talks, with subjects such as member Andy's Antarctic voyage, ‘In the Footsteps of Shackleton’, and Antarctic wildlife and natural history.
The first walk of the season was a four-mile trek through the Suffolk countryside, concluding with a meal at the Glemham Crown pub near Saxmundham
uture walks will be led by club members and will finish at dog-friendly pubs.
In October, the Ukelele band Jetsam performed a medley of Beatles songs in aid of the Wolverstone Project
The annual Boat Jumble on Sunday, October 13 provides a platform for members to buy and sell nautical gear at bargain prices.
Looking ahead, members are eager for the November talk about HMS Vale, by Cate, detailing the former Swedish Navy fast attack craft’s final journey up the river Deben.
The club also plans to offer RYA Day Skipper shore-based and RYA VHF radio courses in March 2025.
