The A12 has been reopened after the air ambulance was called to a serious crash.
Emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway of the A12 between junction 23 at Kelvedon and junction 24 at Feering at about 10.30am following a serious crash on the northbound carriageway.
The southbound carriageway was closed to allow the air ambulance to land.
Officers from Essex Police were at the scene.
Drivers are being warned of heavy delays and advised to find alternative routes.
