Ipswich Town have been linked with a potential move for Croatian striker Petar Musa.

According to TeamTalk, Town are 'among a number of Premier League clubs weighing up moves' for the 26-year-old, who is currently at FC Dallas in the MLS.

He's scored 13 goals in 23 games so far this campaign, having signed from Benfica in February for a reported club record fee of 13 million Euros.

Musa, a Croatian international, bagged 14 goals in 56 games for Benfica and played in the Champions League.

He started his career at Slavia Prague and has also played for Slovan Liberec, Union Berlin and Boavista.

Mark's verdict

It seems likely that Town will look to add another striker this summer, with new £15m hitman Liam Delap and George Hirst their two leading senior options as it stands.

Ali Al-Hamadi is third on the depth chart but looks likely to head out on loan, while Freddie Ladapo will surely depart permanently.

So links to strikers are expected, but this one feels unlikely. As ever with reports linking a player to numerous clubs, you have to suspect a busy agent at work.

I'd certainly like to see a striker with proven Premier League credentials come through the door at Portman Road this summer, but Musa doesn't fit the bill there - or the profile of players boss Kieran McKenna tends to pursue.
