He scored Town's goal and afterwards McKenna revealed that the right-sided role is a spot Harness is 'pretty keen' on.
McKenna explained: “He did really well, so we’re really pleased for him and it’s good for the group as well for an early marker in pre-season of something which has been massive for us – people on the bench being ready to come on and do a good job.
“He’s certainly done that, in a different role than what he’s played for us, but a role that we’ve spoken with him about quite a few times and he’s pretty keen on.
“I think he enjoyed playing out there and he did really well.”
It was a good day all round for Harness - the martial arts enthusiast headed straight from Portman Road to Manchester to watch UFC 304 after yesterday's game.
Brazilian jiu-jitsu purple belt Harness was later shown cageside at the Co-Op Live Arena as Suffolk boy and big Town fan Arnold Allen beat opponent Giga Chikadze to open the main card of the massive event.
