Neighbours have expressed sadness at the death of a young woman in Great Yarmouth. Officers were called to an address in Middlegate, Great Yarmouth, shortly after 2pm on Tuesday November 19. Emergency services attended the scene but the woman, who was aged in her 20s, was pronounced dead. On Wednesday morning, November 20, one police car remained outside the house and a cordon had been removed. One woman who lives locally said the deceased woman “used to be in her garden all the time”. “I said yesterday I hadn’t seen her in her garden for a few days. “When I went out on the school run I saw the police, the place was rammed with emergency cars. “It’s sad. When she used to be in her garden, she’d chat with anyone who walked past.” She said the death was “heartbreaking”. “You don’t expect it, and it being so near your doorstep it’s even sadder”. Another woman who lives on Middlegate said: “I have lived here for many years, since 2017, and I never saw her. “I feel sad that a person has died alone, but sometimes that’s what happens.” A man who was visiting his mother, who lives in the neighbourhood, said: “I saw her a couple of times when I parked up but I never spoke to her. “It is a shame when somebody that young passes away with their life in front of them.” The woman’s death is currently being treated as unexplained and officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
