I was privileged to know Mike as a member of Kemball Street Gospel Hall where he started a Covenantor group for boys and my brother Gordon and I were asked to be Assistant Leaders. Though he did not teach me at Northgate Grammar School he was instrumental in starting the Christian Union. I will miss he annual Christmas letters, usually on a typewriter and latterly written by hand.
