A packed-out church and many more people witnessed the switching on of more than 280 Christmas trees in a Suffolk town.
Stowmarket celebrated the launch of the town's popular Christmas tree festival as ITV Anglia presenter Becky Jago turned on lights on trees around the town on Friday, November 25.
The Church of St Peter and St Mary is one of six venues taking part in this year's festival, with more at Stowmarket Library, the Food Museum, Red Gables, The Walnut and Maxwell Brown estate agents.
Many of the trees are based around this year's theme, Peace on Earth, in response to current world events.
Reverend Michael Eden, vicar at the church, said: "We had a super evening, the church was packed.
"We love how the town comes together every year for the festival."
The festival is into its 18th year this year, with the celebrations running until December 31.
Rev. Eden continued: "Visitors can expect a big 'wow' moment when they come into the church and see the lights for the first time."
The church is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm for those wishing to see the lights.
