Progress has been made on plans to build 375 homes and a new primary school in Lakenheath, after another reserved matters application was submitted to the council.
The scheme for the land off Station Road has been on the drawing board since 2014 and plans were initially granted conditional approval in January 2020.
However, the latest series of applications requests an extension of the existing planning permission, with the most recent one addressing landscaping details within the west edge area.
Proposals for this project include building 375 homes, to include 30% - 112 properties - as affordable housing.
The site covers 22.8 hectares of land currently in agricultural use to the north of Lakenheath and also includes an access road onto Station Road and an entrance to the proposed new primary school.
Lakenheath Parish Council has consistently objected to the plans, as it is felt that noise from the nearby US Air Force base at RAF Lakenheath would be too severe on the homes.
However, when approval was initially given in 2020, West Suffolk's public health and housing officers said any development would have to comply with World Health Organisation and British safety standards on noise levels.
