The owners of a million pound property in east Suffolk have submitted an application for 30 solar panels in a bid to "decrease its contribution to the climate crisis".
Ivy Lodge Barn is a five-bedroom home located in Hoo - between Framlingham and Woodbridge - and is worth more than £1 million.
The proposal seeks to build 30 panels on the roof of the property, allowing the "host dwelling to be approximately 80% self-sufficient."
Application documents claim the plan would "generate a benefit for local trade before, during and after construction", while also increasing "the sustainability of an existing dwelling with opportunity to further decrease its contribution to the climate crisis."
It is hoped the installation of the privately owned energy source "would also allow for potential electric vehicle charging points to be installed in the future to facilitate the uptake of electric vehicles."
Wilkinson Planning's design statement - written on behalf of a Mr S Walker - states: "The proposal is a wholly deliverable prospect, making effective use of space, without undue harms.
"The proposal fundamentally increases sustainability of the site with minimal harm to any local significance or assets."
