Plans have been submitted to convert a Grade II listed building in a Suffolk village from four apartments to two semi-detached homes.
The proposals for 1-4 Church Close in Sproughton also include the conversion of an outbuilding on the northern boundary of the site into a single home as well as the erection of a fourth detached dwelling to the south.
If approved by Babergh District Council, a new car parking area for the two-storey semi-detached homes would be established.
A planning statement prepared by JTS Partnership on behalf of Church Close Properties Ltd states: "The council has confirmed, through its pre-application response, that the principle is in accordance with strategic policies and is, in principle, acceptable.
"The new dwellings will provide a high level of amenity for future occupants; have an appropriate means of access and will cause no harm to any neighbours or ecology interest.
"This scheme is compatible with the host building and site and will enhance local context and character.
"It will [also] improve the existing housing stock on the site and the quality of residential accommodation."
