About 30 bikers wearing bunny ears and Easter costumes delivered more than 400 chocolate eggs to children's wards at two hospitals.

The bikers, who are a part of Forever Two Wheels UK, formed a convoy to collect, donate and deliver the eggs to Colchester and Ipswich hospital in torrential rain on March 26.

They put smiles on the faces of children and staff at the hospitals and among onlookers while riding along the route dressed in their bunny costumes, which included helmet covers which can cost in excess of £20.

Each hospital received more than 200 Easter eggs with the childrens' wards and outpatients' wards benefitting from their generosity while some eggs were distributed to the wider hospital community.

The bikers gathered together to ride to Full Throttle Cafe in Clacton to collect the eggs, before making their way to Colchester Hospital, and then Ipswich Hospital before heading home to get warm and dry.

One of the organisers, April Scott, said: "The weather was absolutely torrential so I am surprised that even 30 bikers came because they do not like rain.

"To get the 30 was a shock, but we have some really good members on our page and they will do anything to help children and people when they can so they tend to put anything else aside.

"Everyone just wanted to put a smile on people's faces.

"Everyone loved it when bikers came wearing bunny ears and costumes carrying Easter eggs."

This is not the first time the group has done a themed donation run, as in December, 25 Santa's delivered toy's to Colchester and Ipswich Hospital for Christmas.

The group have said they are planning to do another toy run for Christmas this year, and have plans for other fundraisers.
