Stowmarket: King Charles sits on fence ahead of Coronation

The model was placed on the fence on Thursday, April 27, and has been making people smile since then.

The King is made out of a manakin that the creator got from M&Co which closed its doors last month, with the head being made out of newspaper and tin foil, shaped into the monarch.

Creator and artist Sharon Kulesa said: "It's pretty big, it's probably bigger than he is in real life.

"I probably spent around two days making him, and the reception I have received has been amazing.

"I love seeing people's reactions to him, it makes people smile and it is something to mark the event.

"It's something nice for the community that I like to do."

Mrs Kulesa, 43, has previously created Boris Johnson, which was stolen ahead of bonfire night, Father Christmas and Queen Elizabeth II to celebrate the Jubilee last year, which remained on her fence until her passing.

Along with the life-size King Charles on her fence, she has also created a smaller version which is displayed in the window of Peel and Gudgeon Opticians in Stowmarket.

She continued: "I am glad how well he is holding together.

"The type of materials I used to make him is fairly durable in the rain which is good too."

She has said she would like to make an Ed Sheeran being a Suffolk legend and has had suggestions to create Stowmarket icon, Oscar the Tesco cat.
