A proposal has been made to build a viewing gallery to allow people with limited mobility a good view of historic Framlingham sites.
Framlingham Town Council has put forward a proposal for a viewing gallery for people to get better views of the mere and Framlingham Castle.
It is proposed that a timber platform extending around four to five metres into the land, with a widening at the end to allow for two wheelchair users or a wheelchair and a helper to sit and look at the view.
The platform would be based sloping slightly down from the verge on the mere side of New Road, with a short width of level pavement allowing access across the verge from the road.
The viewing gallery will be protected from grazing cattle by a rail fence with stock-proof wire.
The proposal will not require the removal of trees, with just two or three hedging shrubs to be removed, depending on the width of the access ramp.
Framlingham Town Council is looking for backing for this project.
