Holidaymakers flying from Stansted Airport are being urged to check before travelling as UK airspace has been hit by an air traffic control technical fault.
Flights to and from Stansted Airport are "likely" to be effected by the fault.
In a tweet Stansted Airport said: "We are aware of a nationwide air traffic control issue that is affecting flights in and out of airports across the country.
"This is likely to impact some flights at Stansted Airport, please check the latest status of your flight with your airline."
National Air Traffic Services (NATS) said it is experiencing a “technical issue” and has applied traffic flow restrictions to maintain safety.
It said in a statement: “We are currently experiencing a technical issue and have applied traffic flow restrictions to maintain safety.
“Engineers are working to find and fix the fault. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
