A pub in a village near Sudbury is set for a new lease of life after it was announced that the owners of a popular inn in Essex have taken over the premises.
The Vine in Great Bardfield is well-known for its cosy interior, plethora of drink options and burger menu which draws in people from all over Suffolk and Essex.
Now, one of the three owners, Spencer Hewitt, has announced on social media that the trio has taken over a new premises in Cavendish: The George.
The pub has remained empty since closing in January this year after the previous owners struggled to recover from the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis.
The website says that the pub is in the final stages of preparations and will be opening this month.
While little is known about the menu, the team does specialise in burgers and has promised that The George will follow a similar menu.
"Our primary emphasis is on creating a laid-back dining atmosphere, and our 'Divine' burger menu presents delectable dishes made from locally sourced, freshly prepared ingredients served within a bun," reads the website.
The pub is opening this month and further information will be released on its social media pages.
