A set of major roadworks in the A14 in mid Suffolk will resume next week after pausing over the Christmas period.
The £37million scheme which is taking place between Haughley and Tothill has been ongoing since the start of this year.
It is expected to be completed in the summer of 2024.
Earlier this month National Highways bosses confirmed that the works would pause of the Christmas period in order to minimise disruption to drivers.
The works will now resume on Wednesday, January 3.
Andy Jobling, National Highways programme delivery manager on the scheme, said: “As the festive period approaches, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank road users and the local community for the patience they have shown us while we undertake the upgrades.
"The A14 team will take a joyful pause from December 21 to January 3 allowing minimum disruptions for drivers during the Christmas holidays."
Excavation work will continue on the westbound carriageway in the new year.
Following this the upgrade will move into its final stage with full resurfacing of the carriageway in both directions.
