A convenience store could open in a west Suffolk village if plans to change the use of a warehouse are given the go-ahead.
Proposals for the redevelopment of CDC Truck Stuff, next to the Weeping Willow pub in Bury Road, Barrow, have been submitted to West Suffolk Council.
The plans would see the 0.7-hectare warehouse site, which currently comprises a large building and forecourt area, change use to become a convenience store.
The existing building would be repurposed with two single-storey extensions to maximize the space.
There would be parking spaces for up to nine vehicles created, and landscaping to enclose the site.
A statement to West Suffolk Council on behalf of applicant Pont Enterprises Ltd said: "It can be seen that the proposal offers great benefits to a site that currently has several large lorry trailers that are not considered to be visual aesthetic within the environment and setting.
"With two small extensions proposed and an improved frontage, the proposal provides a positive change to the current use and location. Complementing the surrounding area and immediate neighbours," they added.
CDC Truck Accessories Ltd has confirmed it is not closing down, but is moving to larger premises.
The plans are with West Suffolk Council for consideration.
