Suffolk Trading Standards has issued an alert for doorstep traders after a homeowner in Finningham was approached on Tuesday.
The trader claimed to be from Suffolk Highways and offered to pea shingle the driveway with leftover materials from works on the A140 and would provide bank details for the homeowner to make online payments.

A spokesman for the authority said: "Suffolk Highways will never call at your property to offer leftover materials.
"Never agree to any work done as a result of a cold call.
"If you need work doing, get quotes from 2 or 3 traders. You can also check Suffolk Trusted Trader for traders that have been vetted and approved by us."
Anyone else who was approached by the rogue trader or has any information such as the vehicle they were travelling in should contact Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 0808 223 1133.
