The University of Suffolk’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Helen Langton, has been to Buckingham Palace to receive her MBE award from the Princess Royal.
Prof Langton became a Member of the Order of the British Empire in the King’s Birthday Honours in recognition of her contribution to education, health service provision and community engagement.
She went to London with her husband, Dr Andrew Langton and their sons, Sam and Jed.
Prof Langton is retiring from the university in April and said: “It was a truly memorable and amazing day, made possible by all the people in all the teams I have work with, and I thank them.”
She received the award from the Princess Royal at the palace and it comes after 30 years working in higher education after she became a registered nurse 40 years ago.
