Plans to build a new caravan site in a village have been submitted.
An application to build a touring caravan site at Cuckoo Tye Farm near Long Melford, near Sudbury, has been submitted to Babergh District Council.
If the plans are approved by the local authority, a new vehicle access point will be created along Kings Lane to the east of the site while the main access route will be from Sudbury Road in Acton, at the junction with Vicarage Lane.
This is designed so that no traffic passes Cuckoo Tye Farmhouse.
The pitches at the site will be for touring caravans only and there is no plans for static caravans on the site according to the applicant.
According to a planning statement submitted with the application, the development will provide additional tourism facilities in the area.
It also states that it is intended that the site will be certified by an exempt organisation like The Camping and Caravan Club.
