Drivers are being diverted 28 miles after an emergency road closure was put in place outside a town.
Bures Road in Great Cornard near Sudbury has been closed since Monday, February 12.
According to the Suffolk County Council website, the road will be closed until Tuesday, February 27.
The official diversion route on the council's website is 28 miles long and is taking people about an hour to complete.
The road is currently closed near the Kings Head pub while Cadent carries out works.
The stretch of road was also closed at the back end of last year along with nearby Head Lane.
Residents of Broom Street in the village complained that their road was being used as a rat-run.
Speaking in December, Peter Beer a resident of Broom Street and a Babergh district councillor, said: "They are using Broom Street as a rat run and they are driving too fast.
"If they went slower up the road it wouldn't be as bad but they are going too fast."
