A man has been arrested after a late-night crash on the A12 in east Suffolk.
Suffolk police has confirmed that officers were called to reports of a single-vehicle crash on the A12 heading northbound near Marlesford at about 12.15am on Thursday.
According to the report, a van had left the road and overturned.
The driver reportedly fled the scene on foot with his passenger, a young child, according to a police spokeswoman.

Later this morning, at about 2.25am, a 26-year-old man was arrested near Washbrook in connection with the incident.
He allegedly failed a roadside breath test and was taken into police custody for questioning, but has since been released under investigation.
According to the police spokeswoman, neither the young child or driver sustained any injuries.
The A12 was closed in both directions for about four hours to recover the van and clear debris from the carriageway.
The road eventually reopened at about 4.25am, Suffolk police confirmed.
