Afternoon tea is one of the classic British traditions that continues to live on.
While Suffolk has a number of great cafés and tearooms, two have been named among the best in the east of England.
Lifestyle magazine Muddy Stilettos has ranked its favourite afternoon tea spots in the east, with Seckford Hall, near Woodbridge, and The Swan, Lavenham, making the list.
Writers praised Seckford Hall for its traditional afternoon tea, saying: "There’s no messing with the art of afternoon tea here, so you can expect classic fluffy scones with Tiptree jam, elegant sandwiches and pretty-as-a-picture cakes."

The hotel and spa serves afternoon tea daily between 12pm and 5pm each day, while they are holding a special lunch this mother's day.
Muddy Stilettos highlighted The Swan at Lavenham's activity for the special occasion this year.
People will be able to enjoy glasses of prosecco, afternoon tea and create an art masterpiece for £60 per person.
