A former motor racing champion from mid Suffolk is set to run the London Marathon in support of a children's charity.
Joshua Webster, from Mickfield, near Debenham, has set an ambitious target of £5,000 with all money going to Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity.
Mr Webster has been immersed in marathon training.
He said: “I’d love to raise so much more.
"The pain I’ll endure on the day is dwarfed by what the children and their families are going through every day.
"It’s so important to get the help these children need and to support their families with dedicated Roald Dahl Nurses.
"For a few hours of running, we can make a huge difference for these families and any money we can raise to make it easier for them, the better.”
Lucy Broom, the new Roald Dahl nurse at Ipswich Hospital, provides comprehensive care to children with complex medical conditions in the region.
Ms Broom offers her expert clinical knowledge, referrals and coordination of care both at home and hospital.
Her efforts ensure consistent and personalised medical attention for the children, following up with GP surgeries, social care and schools, to secure the best possible outcome.
Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity calls for more public support towards their current fundraising campaign.
The charity seeks to establish more Roald Dahl CMC Nurses throughout the UK to care for seriously ill children.
The charity encourages participation in sponsored challenge events like the Ipswich Half Marathon in September.
Further fundraising information is available via the charity's website.
Sponsorship for Mr Webster's marathon effort can be made via a dedicated online webpage.
