A date has been set for a Saxmundham man accused of rape to appear at crown court.
On Monday, Mark Hurren of Deben Road, Saxmundham, appeared in the dock at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court.
The 47-year-old has been accused of four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
Two of the rapes are alleged to have taken place in July of 2021, while the remaining incidents are said to have taken place in April last year.
Hurren spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth.
As the offences are indictable only, the case will be heard at Ipswich Crown Court.
The next hearing date is scheduled for May 7.
