Ipswich Town have reassured supporters following complaints over ticketing for the East Anglian derby.
There were claims on social media over the weekend following Town's defeat to Norwich City that a significant portion of tickets for the game at Carrow Road had been dished out to staff – but we understand those claims to be considerably wide of the mark.
It was claimed that 20% of the allocation, equating to around 400 tickets, had been offered to staff.
A 'limited allocation' of tickets were given to players as normal, with tighter restrictions around the derby clash. The club is understood to be 'disappointed' with the suggestions to the contrary.
While many took to social media to moan, we understand the club has received just a handful of complaints - fewer than ten - and has replied to each individually.
It is is standard for the club to allocate a number of tickets to the players and staff for away games.
A club spokesperson said: "Whilst we won't get every decision right, we will continue to review our processes in all areas of the club and make improvements where necessary."
2,001 Town fans were at Carrow Road on Saturday for the East Anglian derby, which saw Norwich run out 1-0 winners.
