Two women were seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash on a major north Suffolk route.

Emergency services were called to the crash involving a black Volkswagen Polo and a black Vauxhall Zafira in the A143 near Rickinghall, near Diss, at about 2.40pm on Wednesday. 

The driver and passenger in the Polo were taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries. 

The road was closed while recovery of the vehicles took place but reopened at about 5.45pm. 

Police are now appealing for anyone with any information to contact the Roads and Armed Polcing Team, quoting the crime reference number 37/19990/24.
