People are being warned to "not approach" a wanted man after a serious assault.
Alex Potter is wanted in connection to an assault in Colchester on Saturday.
Officers were called to reports of an incident at about 11.05am, at the junction of St John’s Walk and Abbeygate Street, where a man sustained injuries to his stomach and head.
He was taken to hospital by the ambulance service for further treatment.
Officers arrested a woman on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Our inquiries are continuing and we would now like to speak to 32-year-old Alex Potter in connection with this incident.
"If you see Alex, please do not approach him and call 999."
He has short dark hair and stubble, and has connections to Colchester.
Anyone with any information is being asked to contact Essex Police quoting the crime reference number 470 of April 13.
