Oxfam is to close its Stowmarket shop over concerns about the shop's viability.
The charity shop, located in the Meadow Centre, will close its doors on Friday May 3.
An Oxfam spokesperson said: “We have made the difficult decision to close the Stowmarket Oxfam. We are sorry to have to take this step and thank our loyal customers staff and volunteers for their support. People who want to can still support Oxfam through our shops in Diss and Ipswich, as well as on our online Oxfam shop.
“Oxfam shops exist to raise as much money as possible to fund our work with communities around the world to overcome poverty and suffering. We constantly evaluate the profitability of all our shops and sometimes this leads to difficult decisions about the viability of particular shops as it has in this case."
Oxfam, which opened its first charity shop in 1947, aims to eradicate poverty, tackle climate change, and respond to global emergencies.
A closing down sale began on Monday.
