A mid Suffolk woman has been ordered to pay out more than £500 after failing to show a train ticket for inspection when asked.
Shannon Procter, aged 25 and of Onehouse Road in Stowmarket, was accused of failing to hand over her ticket for inspection and verification of validity when asked to do so on June 25 last year, between Stratford in east London and Stowmarket.
The case was dealt with via single justice procedure at Barkingside Magistrates' Court in Ilford, north-east London.
The single justice procedure deals with more minor summary offences that are not heard before a crown court.
Procter was convicted of a single charge of failing or refusing to hand over a valid ticket while not in a designated compulsory ticket area at a hearing on January 24.
She was ordered by magistrates at the court to pay £220 in fines, £65.70 in compensation, an £88 victim surcharge and £175 in costs, totalling a sum of £548.70.
A collection order was made the money.
