A man has been fined almost £2,500 and told to pay costs after he was caught driving at nearly double the alcohol limit.
Mark Surguy, of Sudbury Road in Bures, was accused of driving a Seat Taracco on Stewkley Road in Wing, Buckinghamshire, on October 1 last year when he was above the legal alcohol limit.
He was found to have 152 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
This was almost double the legal limit in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, which is 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres.
On April 12 this year Surguy plead guilty to the charge, which was dealt with at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court in Buckinghamshire.
He was given an 18-month disqualification from driving.
The ban can be reduced by 18 weeks upon the successful completion of a course, to be completed by April 7, 2025.
Surguy was fined £2,496 and must also pay £85 in costs and a £998 victim surcharge.
This means the total amount the defendant has to pay out is £3,579.
