A man has been charged with two counts of assault after trying to avoid police while sunbathing.

Officers in Sudbury made the arrest at Woodhall Business Park on Friday afternoon. 

A spokesman said: "Officers arrested a wanted male while sunbathing in a discreet location trying to avoid the police."

Police said the man was found in possession of drugs and was taken to Bury St Edmunds police station for questioning. 

40-year-old Andrew Chadfield, of Warwick Street in Manchester, was charged with two counts of assault - one on a prison officer and one on a police officer. 

He was also charged with possession of cannabis.

Chadfield was due to appear before Suffolk Magistrates Court on Monday, May 13.
